Frequently Asked
Questions
-
How old does the athlete
need to be? - Should be at least 8 years old.
-
Do they have to know how
to bowl? - They don't have to be good bowlers (there is no average
criteria). They do have to be able to bowl 3 games, and within a
reasonable amount of time. This is league play, we must keep the lanes
moving and complete each session in a reasonable amount of time.
-
How much does it cost?
$5.00 per athlete or partner for shoes and 3 games.
-
How do they register for
Special Olympics? At registration or their first day of league,
athletes will get forms to complete....UNLESS they are currently
participating in Special Olympics.
-
What if they don't have a
partner? We encourage athletes to find a partner if they can.
However, if they don't have one, we make every effort to recruit one. We
have many volunteers who want to be partners....it's actually really
cool! Even with the great volunteer turnout, we usually find ourselves
short a few partners. That should NOT stop anyone who is interested in
participating. We usually have a few volunteers willing to bowl more
than one shift.
-
Who can be a partner?
Family members, many partners are parents, siblings, grandparents,
neighbor, etc. A partner form is required and can be obtained at
registration or their first day of league.
-
Can athletes bowl with
bumpers? No, we do not use bumpers and we do have the foul lights
on.
